About my work...
I am grateful to have worked in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on individual and group sessions.
I have supported clients suffering with symptoms of mood disorders, trauma experiences, suicidal ideation, self-harm and psychosis.
I enjoy working with individuals, families and couples who are 18+ years old.
I am always mindful of increasing my multicultural competencies and am honored to be an ally to those communities who are marginalized and underrepresented.
My Mission as a Therapist
I want you to know you're not alone. Your suffering is great. You deserve to be heard and supported.
My Philosophy of Healing
You must walk through your suffering to get to your desired life. It will be one of your greatest challenges, but it will be worth it.
My style of therapy always radiates my core values of love and kindness. I integrate CBT, ACT, DBT, Narrative therapy and mindfulness approaches to sessions. You will discover that I am transparent, use appropriate self-disclosure in therapy and I am known to curse from time to time in sessions...because sometimes there is no better way to react to the unfairness of life. I make an effort to highlight joy and celebrate strengths while creating a space of comfort, warmth and support.
On a personal note
I have life experiences that led me to my own personal therapy. It was challenging and enlightening. I hated it some days and absolutely loved it most days. I understand what the journey is like and I believe in the power of self-discovery.
